If it still feels gummy, leave the tape on overnight and remove itwithin 24 hours, when it finally feels hard and dry. This timing works for most painter's tapes, but know that some tapes allow for longer adhesion, up to 30 days.
- Peel the tape at a45 degree angle. If you see paint starting to come off with the tape, use a razor blade to carefully slice the paint and remove the tape.
- If you are applying more than one coat of paint, wait to take the tape off after thefinal coat has dried.
